Calvin Gee is a 32 year old Professional Magician, Mentalist, & Hypnotist based in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. He has been featured several times on Breakfast Television, CTV News, &, in 2015, was one of the very first Mentalists on Season 11 of America's Got Talent.
With over 20 years of experience in the field of magic, Calvin is not only a consultant for Magicians, Mentalists, & Hypnotists all across the world, but also a creator of magic. Calvin's creations & designs have been used by many of the big names in magic all across the world.

In regards to the many questions asked about Calvin's tattoos (the 6 Zener Card Symbols, which he got, on Friday, June 3rd, 2016; and the Magician's Top Hat With Magic Wand, 1992, & Solid Metal Zener Die, which he got, on Tuesday, May 28, 2024) , he's decided to share these photos, and include a brief reason as to why he chose to get them.

Magician's Top Hat With Magic Wand - Oath of allegiance to the IBM (International Brotherhood Of Magicians), and two extremely powerful symbols; the "Magician's Top Hat" represents a portal to appear/disappear, Magic from nothing, & the ability to get out of any situation; the "Magic Wand" represents the ability to create/invent Magic, to do anything, & to make the impossible, possible; combined, they represent a dangerously skilled Magician, or, the best of the best of Magicians in the world.

1992 - The year Calvin was born; Calvin got this tattoo, because he is always the youngest looking old person in the room; people Calvin's age are always shocked that Calvin is their age, while people a decade or more, younger than Calvin, assume that Calvin is still younger than them, not knowing that Calvin is older than them by a lot; this leads to confusion and misjudgment whenever Calvin refers to past performances, or the number of years he has been performing Magic. "YOU WERE IN KINDERGARTEN 1996?! ARE YOU SURE?! WHAT YEAR WERE YOU BORN?" Was always a common question of confusion and misjudgment amongst audiences.

Solid Metal Zener Die - Oath of allegiance to the ESP Community (Extra Sensory Perception Community), and an extremely powerful symbol, which represents being a Master Of Clairvoyance & Psychometry abilities; this tattoo also serves as a tribute to Calvin's Clairvoyance & Psychometry teacher.
***An In-Depth Biography Of How Calvin Got Into Magic***
1996-1997 (Intro To Magic) - A magician that went by the name of "Chris The Amazing", came to Calvin's Kindergarten class. Chris did many amazing effects, but the one effect Calvin could never forget, was how Chris put a coin in one of his own hands (his opposite hand, was of course, empty) and no matter how many times Calvin guessed (he must have did this a dozen and a half times on Calvin!) which hand the coin was in, Chris would open the hand that Calvin had pointed to, only for that hand to be empty! The feeling of "how did you do that?!" hit Calvin and thus, this was where it all started!

1997 (Father's Trick/1st Magic Secret) - With two quarters (one in each hand), Calvin's father asked Calvin to guess which hand contained the quarter (similar to what “Chris The Amazing” had done, but the difference was that Chris genuinely only had one coin, and Calvin's father had two coins. With both hands containing a quarter, Calvin's father would always open the opposite hand that Calvin had pointed to, but Calvin didn't know that during this time). Later, to Calvin's complete astonishment, Calvin's father revealed to Calvin, this secret. This, in turn, became Calvin's 1st secret to this passion, this hobby of his.

1998 (Calvin's Very First Performance) - Having been shown the secret to his father's quarter trick, Calvin grabbed two quarters, and his magic kit that he had received from his grandparents on his father's side of the family (his grandparents own a restaurant in Downtown Edmonton, and decided to take some time off, to bring Calvin to the toy section of Safeco, where he picked out a small magic kit containing two tricks) and performed for his family/friends (his family wasn't really amazed, they moreless just smiled at him and thought he was cute; his friends, on the other hand, were completely amazed, not only by the quarter trick, but also his ball trick where he changed the color of a plastic ball from orange to blue to red and then to silver, as well as turning five cards into two cards (these two tricks were part of the magic kit that he had received from his grandparents)).

1999-2004 (Performing During His Spare Time) - During this time frame, Calvin's tricks went from "absolutely no thinking required to figure them out," to "the basics"; the latter, being tricks that came in magic kits that would require some thinking to figure out (these tricks were more expensive and complicated to perfect. Calvin's mother used to take him to two cool, secret little toy stores (one was known as The Science Shop in Southgate Mall which was also near his grandma on his mother's side of the family; the other was known as Cosmos in West Edmonton Mall) several times a year, for the past several years. It was during this time frame, where Calvin would pick-up a few magic kits). Calvin's collection of magic kits grew (his father also brought him to the bookstore to find a magic book, in which, Calvin didn't really read until he got older. This book contained many of the fundamentals to magic, in particular, card magic. This book is extremely over-priced in today's market, and is considered one of the most invaluable books you could buy.... if.... you could even find one today).

2004-2007 (Loss Of Faith In The Art) - Bringing "toy parts" of his magic kits to Junior High, and having most of his friends figure out more than half of them, Calvin's interest and respect for the art of magic, went down the drain. It was during this time frame that Calvin had stopped performing magic, despite his cousin and her family who had bought him a huge book on professional magic for Christmas. Calvin did, however, have a spark back into the art for a brief moment, at a restaurant around the year of 2005. Calvin's younger sister did a magic trick with a piece of paper that was cut into the shape of a "Y". Calvin's younger sister took the piece of paper, and while holding it, it had started to bend on its own. Although his younger sister's interest in magic was short (she grew out of it), Calvin's younger sister did own a magic book (back when his sister and him were little, their father had brought both of them to the bookstore and they both bought one book based on magic) and was kind enough to show me the secret to this basic trick, a trick that made my friends insane whenever Calvin performed it. His friends just couldn't figure it out!

2007-2010 (The Card Guy) - Entering High School, Calvin became best friends with this guy nicknamed as "The Card Guy". Not only was Calvin's best friend's nickname well deserved, but he taught Calvin to look for, buy, read, and practice, things found in very old/vintage, magic books (not books from today, but books from 1900, 1929-1980, and the early 1990's, that were ONLY found at the library). Apparently/according to Calvin's best friend, "The Card Guy", all the "real" secrets were in these types of old books. Sure enough, Calvin's best friend was right!!! It was at this point, that Calvin had started doing real magic; though he had learned quite a bit from magic kits, it was from this moment forward, that Calvin had completely stopped using his plastic magic kits. Calvin had also decided to crack open that huge book on professional magic that his cousin and her family had given to him.

2010 (The Magic Guy) - It was Calvin's final year of High School; it was during this year, that Calvin had met another guy nicknamed to be "The Magic Guy", who was showing off his magic skills to Calvin's girlfriend (Calvin was a bit jealous at first, and wanted to become as great as "The Magic Guy" to impress his girlfriend (Calvin's girlfriend was jaw-dropped amazed!!!)). Not only was "The Magic Guy" and his nickname well deserved, but after establishing the fact that Calvin was also a magician (card specialist at this time), the two had become the best of friends! "The Magic Guy" also decided to teach Calvin some of the most mind-blowing effects, that he still uses, to this very day (this was also the point where Calvin became exceptionally good at magic! Calvin's knowledge of the art, had gone way beyond the basics! Performing magic for family/friends, and seeing their reactions/how astonished they were, made Calvin feel as though he was able to contribute to them, that feeling of being a kid again; that feeling of being completely amazed!).

2011-2012 (Levitation) - Sometime, during the beginning of 2011, Calvin had found a kiosk in the low traffic area of Southgate Mall. It was here, that Calvin had found people demonstrating real life levitation! Before the kiosk went out of business (nobody even knew that it was there to begin with, but the people that did know, that saw them, stopped and watched them perform for hours on end!), Calvin had purchased a few of their books. Little did Calvin know, that the information contained in these books, was extremely powerful!!!! During this time, Calvin had read these books as if they were based on complete fiction (and of course, he was VERY WRONG); now, Calvin refers to these books all the time (both of his parents (especially his mother), and his younger sister, were jaw-dropped/completely astonished when Calvin had performed for them, his very first levitation effect. Calvin took his father's drivers licence card, and flew it from hand-to-hand. As a finale, Calvin flew the card around his entire body before giving it back to him. With laughter in his father's face, and a smile/completely astonished look on his younger sister's face, they both asked how he was able to do that. Before Calvin could even say a word, his mother took the drivers licence card that Calvin had just put back on the table, threw it, and stared at it blankly as it landed on the floor. Literally 10 seconds later, his mother had asked him the same question as his father and younger sister had just asked. Whether Calvin had told them about the book he had picked up at Southgate Mall, or the harsh training that he had to endure to achieve the desired result, is a mystery 😉!!!).

***An In-Depth Biography Of How Calvin Got Into Mentalism & Hypnosis***
2013 (Mentalism & The Beginning Of Hypnosis) - Up until this time, Calvin had come across MANY mental math effects! Not interested (and thinking that this was what mentalism was), Calvin continued his journey, performing magic and magic only. Whenever Calvin was given a spare moment, he would perform. By the time early 2013 came around, Calvin had found out that mental math effects were NOT the same as Mentalism! Shocked and confused, Calvin had to re-evaluate the entire subject. To his surprise, Mentalism was in a class of its own!!!! Instead of relying on heavy sleight of hand (like magic tricks), or relying on some sort of math to obtain an answer (mental math effects), Calvin had found out that Mentalism relied on a person's train of thought; thus it requires one to use pure brain power to gain insight on a person that they do not know (example: while blindfolded, stuck in a chair, and in another room (either soundproof or your hearing is cut off), a person can combine their five known senses to create the illusion of a sixth sense/clairvoyance, to know exactly what a person/group is doing that is in a completely different room; or, by using techniques such as anchoring, conscious, and subconscious techniques, as well as voluntary and involuntary reactions, all in combination to establish an individual's anomalies in a matter of seconds instead of days, months, or years (example of a normal person establishing anomalies: if your significant other gives you certain looks on your first date, versus, the same looks on your hundredth date, you would know what each look means better on your hundredth date compared to your first date, because you have established their anomalies)), or had just met (something of which, back in 2012, Calvin had used to think of as "fake", "fictional", or "staged." Why was Calvin thinking this? Because as the saying goes "people are often scared of what they can not make sense of; thus they draw the conclusion that it can't be real". It's just not "humanly" possible to know so much about a complete stranger just by staring at them... or so... Calvin thought... and he thought wrong). Scared, but also fascinated about the unknown, Calvin bought many books that were based solely upon Mentalism (he even paid close to a thousand dollars for one of his books; that book is worth thousands of dollars in today's market, because it not only contains knowledge that is hundreds of years old, but it was also limited to a hundred copies and had instructions, DVDs, hidden groups, phone numbers, and signatures from many Mentalists that are no longer with us today).
By the time the end of 2014 came, Calvin had come to realize that there is such a thing beyond our five senses. This leads us to today, where Calvin combines his skills in magic with psychology, observation, and persuasion, to connect with people, seemingly being able to read the minds of many people, as well as transfer this very ability, to another person for a short period of time so that an audience member could feel what it is like to read someone else's mind! As impossible as this may seem, Calvin proves that this is possible (with an accuracy rate (proven through many of his performances) of 99%-100% every single time!). Just as Pluto was a planet, and is now the planet of the past, there are things in this world we have yet to re-evaluate; things we have yet to understand.

2024 (The Antique Shop) - A retired coworker (looking to sell some of his things), had asked Calvin to drive him to check out a stall for rent, in front of an Antique Shop, located on Whyte Ave, in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada.
​
After arriving and inspecting the stall for rent, both Calvin and the retired coworker, decided to also check out the Antique Shop.
Being superstitious and respectful of the paranormal, Calvin refuses to purchase Antique Items (aside from old coins, such as Morgan Dollars from 1878, etc...), as he believes a deceased individual's soul/power/energy, can tie itself to Antique Items that have been previously owned, and could potentially, bring bad luck to the new owner.
Entering the front door of the Antique Shop, both Calvin and the retired coworker, were greeted by an Old Lady who looked to be in her late 80's.

The Old Lady greeted the two of them, and immediately noticed the symbols that were tattooed on Calvin's left arm.
"The Zener Symbols! Haven't seen those in 65 years! I take it that you know about the experiments done back in the 1930's? You look extremely young to even know what the Zener Symbols are!"
Calvin: "Yes, I do know about the experiments done back in the 1930's! I may look young, but I'm way older than most guys who look older than me; I'm actually a Professional Magician & Mind Reader with about 28 years of experience."
Old Lady: "WOW! You don't look a day over 20! So, tell me, what do you think you know?"
Calvin: "Oh, thank you, but I'm actually in my early 30's. My name is Calvin, I practice with Zener Cards, and I know that it was, and still is, the main way to test individuals for Extra Sensory Perception, or, a Sixth Sense."
Old Lady: " Indeed, that was the original way to practice; but cards absorb the energy of the person reading them, which is how the Mind Reader can use ESP to determine the Symbol on the front of the Zener Card, but Zener Cards can also store physical damage, such as: marks, creases, and bends... In other words, though the backs of the Zener Cards are the same, people started believing that marks, creases, and bends, that accumulated on the cards from everyday use, was how Mind Readers were able to determine the Zener Symbol on the front of each card; thus demonstrations of ESP using cards were considered inconclusive."
Calvin: "That's ok... I usually carry a spare set of Brand New Zener Cards, for when my primary set gets worn out."
*Headed to the back of the Antique Shop, the Old Lady brought out a very small, but heavy, velvet bag, as she made her way back to the front of the shop*
Old Lady: "What you'll find in this velvet bag, belonged to, and was created by, my late Father back in the 1930's; this was a much better way in which he developed, that was used to test so called "Mind Readers" for ESP. Here! Open it and take a look."

*With the very small, but heavy, velvet bag in his left hand, Calvin proceeded to dump out its contents... A single, heavy for its size, Solid Metal Die (that felt cold to the touch), dropped out of the velvet bag, and into Calvin's right hand*

Calvin *SURPRISED*: "This is SOLID METAL... And it has all 6 Zener Symbols engraved onto it; it matches the cards that I use, as well as my tattoo!!! I NEVER buy Antique Items, but would absolutely love something like this if you were to sell it in the future."

*The Old Lady paused, then smiled*
​
Old Lady: "It would be an ABSOLUTE HONOR for me to give this to you, IF AND ONLY IF, you could demonstrate ESP... I am assuming you could, given the Zener Symbols on your arm... Unless that's all for show."
​
*The Old Lady snatched the Die from Calvin, made her way to the back of the Antique Shop, and proceeded to hide the Metal Die in a closed, Opaque Kettle, before she made her way back to the front of the shop*

Old Lady: "What Zener Symbol was just chosen by me?"
​
Retired Coworker: "This is ridiculous! If you wanted to sell it to him, you should have sold it! Don't waste Calvin's time!"
​
Calvin: "Well... I felt that you were very family oriented as you made your way back to the front of the shop... so... I believe you chose the Circle as your Symbol."
​
*The Old Lady smiled, and asked the retired coworker to head to the back of the shop to verify the result*
​
*The retired coworker, headed over to the back of the Antique Shop, opened the Opaque Kettle, and stared at the Metal Die in complete silence, as he tried to process what had happened*
​
Retired Coworker: "That is awesome!!! THAT IS AWESOME!!! WOW... Just... WOW... There's absolutely NO WAY you could have known that Calvin... How ON EARTH DID YOU MANAGE THAT?!"
​
*Headed to the back of the Antique Shop, the Old Lady retrieved the Solid Metal Die from the Opaque Kettle, and made her way back to the front of the shop*
​
Old Lady: "It's been decades since I've come across someone like you; this piece of metal has followed me long enough; my treat to you; it's been an absolute honor."
​
*The Old Lady then handed Calvin, the Solid Metal Die and velvet bag, and proceeded to close the Antique Shop for the day*
​
Upon exit, Calvin thanked the Old Lady for her extremely generous gift; shocked, Calvin realized that he held a piece of history, in his hands, that was close to a hundred years old (1930's ish, to today/2024), and that he also had a story that could be told for generations to come.

Strolling magic, or walk-around magic, is close up sleight-of-hand and mentalism that can be performed for small groups at a time. Calvin will interact with all of your guests, giving each small group their own show. Strolling magic typically works best when your guests spend a majority of their time socializing.
Parlor shows are typically performed with a captive audience of 20-100 people in a quiet environment. It is more intimate than a stage show and can be performed in a smaller environment. Parlor shows are perfect for home parties or gatherings at restaurants or smaller venues.
Stage shows are a larger version of the Parlor show, but for bigger audiences. Your audience members will be engaged and blown away by the mind-boggling demonstrations. Even with a big crowd, Calvin will be able to connect with many of your guests!
